I got new RAM, two sticks of 8G 1866 DDR3 1.5v (those four stats are all I need to match RAM to a motherboard, right?). They have brightly-colored heatsinks so you know they're good! At this point I thought the new RAM might be faulty, but I tried swapping the original RAM for the new RAM and the system was again stable. The crashes only appear to occur when both sets of RAM are installed (all 4 slots occupied).
I found that my 2g stick was causing the bsod, so I took it out and only have 1g now. Is this ram considered bad or should I try to clean it and put it in another ram slot to see if it still works. It is still recognized as ram by the comp just caused the blue screens is all.

Can you pin it down to a specific RAM slot? Does it matter which RAM module is in which slot when all 4 are installed? Try various combinations of 2, 3, 4 slots. You can try blowing out all the slots with canned air in case there's dust is in one of them.
